Painting; oil on canvas; "Picul" by artist Hunt Slonem, 2000; depicts eight tropical birds. Unframed. Hunt Slonem (b. Jul. 18, 1951) is known for always having a parrot on his shoulder while in his studio - the bird droppings and single feather found on "Picul" tell this story. Slonem attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville and is known for his Neo-Expressionist paintings of tropical birds. |
