Electric postcard projector; H. C. White Radioptican magic lantern; hexiaon shaped metal body; cloth twisted electric cord; two chimneys on top; glass lens on front; wooden rails on back for sliding door; slot on interior of door to hold postcard; 2 lightbulbs inside; four round feet; stamp on bottom. H.C. White Co. was founded by Hawley C. White and his two sons Harrie C. and Clarence W. White in 1870 in New York City to make stereoscopes. White invented the radiopticon in 1910 which projected postcard images on a screen. The company went out of business in the 1930s. |
