Description |
A heavy headdress; headdress hosts blue beads; multicolored pom-poms; clear beaded fringe; all on a wooden frame; a gold leather band supports the headdress on the head; interior is padded and lined with red silk; part of a theatrical costume. Finley Elder (b. Apr. 11, 1902, d. Feb. 9, 1991. Married to Donald B. Gracey) wore this headdress as part of her costume during the Texas Cotton Palace Exposition in Texas in 1924. She was chosen to represent Tennessee by Governor Austin Peay. |
