    Cupboard; cherry wood; double doors with 8 glass panes each with wooden knob on proper left door; lower double doors solid wood; metal locks on proper left doors upper and lower; cornice on top, block feet; said to have been made by an African American cabinet maker in southern Montgomery County in the late 1880s.

    Bucket; provided by the Clarksville Edelweiss Club at the Oktoberfest event; used at the second Clarksville Oktoberfest as a mug from which to drink beer; metal, spout on rim, metal bail handle, "European Style/ OKTOBERFEST" in blue print on side of bucket The club was founded to bring German culture and traditions to Clarksville circa 1981. It founded the annual Oktoberfest. The club was disbanded in 2019.

  9. 1983.1.1 - Robe

    A long sleeved robe of blue Chinese silk with gold trim. Silk is patterned with red flowers. Front closes with a motif of 3 frogs. Finley Elder (1902-1991) wife of Donald B. Gracey; wore this costume during the Texas Cotton Palace Exposition in Texas in 1924. She was chosen to represent Tennessee by Governor Austin Peay in the Queen's court featuring a Chinese theme.

    Popcorn sheller; 'A.H. Patch Clarksville Tenn.'; embossed on one side; 'Family Popcorn Sheller Patent Pending' in gold embossed print; spring on sheller stays out. One of the Clarksville Foundry’s most famous products, the foundry took over production of the famous line of A.H. Patch corn shellers when A.H. Patch Co. ceased operations in the 1950s.

    Box; cardboard; white; 'Clarks Trade O.N.T. Trademark for Hand and Machine Sewing Warranted Six Cord' printed on top in blue print; ‘Manufactory Established 1812' James and Patrick Clark began the Clark Thread Company in the 1750s. In the 1880s, the Clark company developed a six-cord soft-finished thread called "Our New Thread," which became known as O.N.T.

  14. 1984.1.5 - Mold, Bullet

    A bullet mold for a round bullet; all metal Individual Soldiers during the Civil War carried bullet molds on their person in order to make bullets for themselves. Soldiers often cast bullets while in their camps when they ran out of ammunition. Bullet mold equipment remained similar in aesthetic for thirty years. However, some manufacturers gave bullet molds wooden handles in the 1890s for comfort purposes.

    Logomachy cards; 72 cards total; greenish-brown design on back side of each card; front side of each card includes a letter of the alphabet in the upper left hand corner with a picture situated at center of card. Originating from the Greek ‘Logos’ for word and ‘Makhia’ for fighting, Logomachy is a game where players fight or compete for the forming of words. 'Logomachy or War of Words' was created by the McLoughlin Bros. Game Company.
