    Round chrome clock; two metal leg stands; "E.N. Welch Manufacturing Co.' etched on back. In 1855, Elisha N. Welch took over the bankrupted business of J.C. Brown (Johnathan Clark Brown, Jr.) in Forestville, CT. J.C. Brown's firm 'Forestville Mfg. Co.' had also made clocks. The E. N. Welch Manufacturing Company formed on July 6, 1864. J.C. Brown's factory became part of the E.N. Welch clock manufacturing complex.

    Sampler; green, red, and blue thread on linen; the alphabet is embroidered at the top with 'Norah R. Mathis Was Born / June 12, 1844 S.A.M.' at the bottom center, embroidered in green. Norah R. Mathis (1844-1891) lived in Montgomery County for a period of time as a child and again when she married Gus Moody in 1866. The couple later separated. Norah is buried in Salem Methodist Church Cemetery in Montgomery County.

Pie birds ventilated fruit or meat pies, allowing steam to escape from inside the pie. This prevented the contents of pies boiling over while in the oven.
